Wino Wednesday: 7 Deadly Sins
By Susan Mercedes. Filed in Dating, Drinks, Friends, Relationships, Wino Wednesday |This Wino Wednesday post was inspired by 7 Deadly Zins. Although I don’t drink a lot of red wine, I love it. Partly because the complexity makes my taste buds dance but mostly because it is alcoholic.
The seven sins are actually right on the bottle. They are wrath, vanity, sloth, gluttony, envy, greed and lust. I don’t like these so I’m making up my own. Mine are the seven things one should never do to me. These are the deal breakers in my continuing a relationship with a person. Of course, I can’t always completely stop a relationship, I can certainly limit my time with a person. This includes men, women, coworkers and even family.
- Insult me by implying that I’m stupid or ignorant.
- Be so full of hate and anger that you’re a drag to be around.
- Be rude to the waitstaff at a restaurant.
- Get mad at me for losing touch. Reaching out goes two ways.
- Expect me to be someone I’m not.
- Make me take off my shoes when I enter your house. My pants are meant to go with the heels I’m wearing. Duh.
- Ignore me.
I don’t like these things. At all. They are considered Susan’s 7 Deadly Zins Sins.
What things drive you mad?

I would have to substitute this for #6:
Make vague statements during a disagreement, so that I wind up confused about what the real problem is. Just say exactly what you mean, and stick to one issue at a time!
Or just quit disagreeing with me, since you’re wrong anyway.

Misty: Sorry for my delayed response because I was too busy ignoring you (clearly you don’t mind that).
Fighters who are confusing suck. I like your approach…if you’re always right, don’t bother fighting.

Here’s mine:
I love entertaining and do it often. I don’t even mind if it isn’t reciprocated but for the love of God at least bring what you are planning to drink. It’s hard enough to support my drinking habit let alone those of my frequent guests.

Diane: REALLY?!?! I can take a hint. But publicly on my blog? I thought we were better friends. *packing a case of wine to put in my trunk for impromptu parties at your place*
Honestly though, I know what you mean. But I also buy in bulk to relieve the support habit stress. So what, it’s my way of coping.
