Giving Up My Crown

Today I will play in a golf tournament. It is sponsored by a large corporation and this is my 2nd or 3rd year of getting an invitation. It’s tough to get an invite. And let me tell you why…this is by far the best tournament mainly because they give out the best prizes. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s a day out of the office for a “work” related golf outing.

I need to give a little history on why this is so meaningful to me. Last year, I was crowned Women’s Longest Drive. When I say crowned, I mean I won. There was no crown or tiara. There was no sash. There was no bumper sticker. Although I did think of getting t-shirts made, I didn’t actually do it.

Well my time is up. My title will run out tomorrow. It has been a year and I’ve used this award to catapult my life in so many ways. And by catapult I mean elevate myself by using the bragging rights every chance I could.

My only option now is to win again. Today. And you know what…I plan to. Wish me luck.

For those of you who are fooled into thinking I’m a fabulous golfer, I’m not. I love to do it. My drive shot is decent. My short game sucks. End of story.

    Good luck!

    You know, I am thinking we need a #SLCGolfUp – We have #TweetUps and #lucnhUps – how about a #GolfUp?

I have not taken the sticks out of storage for almost 3 years… time to dust them off!

iGoByDoc: I would totally be in for a #GolfUp. Scheduling for an unknown size group is the only issue. Unless you’re thinking putt putt golf. In which case, I’m also in as long as there are beverages.

If you use the Bridgestone 330RX you will improve your driving distance

1169fish: May have to try the Bridgestone 330RX, however my Tight Lies kicked ass today.
