My best thinking is done while I’m sweaty but oddly enough – clothed. Like when I am hiking in the mountains or doing cardio at the gym. I can’t say my shower time is very productive (thought wise). I’m normally just thinking about that nights crazy dream or what I am going to wear. But I agree with you on the car time. I do a lot of good thinking in the car. It’s my planning time mostly.

This is weird, but I have my most vivid thoughts on playground swings. When I was a kid I could pretty much imagine “The Neverending Story” from beginning to end on a swingset, but I’d get to do everything Atreyu did. When I was in high school I would imagine myself a fast runner or an opera diva or a prima ballerina or Olympic gymnast or jazz trumpeter. In college I imagined I was an assassin. Catlike, all in black, slicing the throats of evil & powerful men, with a conscience of steel.

Now I get motion sickness on the swings. It was the death of many dreams.

In the shower as well for me. I don’t know what it is about the shower, but so much comes to me while taking a shower. Example: You may have heard about the ‘String Theory’ in physics, and how there are now ten dimensions. I’ve tried so hard to understand how on earth they can even put something like that together, watched countless videos of people explaining it all, and it just wouldn’t sink in. Finally said eff it, and two days later, was taking a shower, and for some reason started thinking about string theories, and it all clicked. It made sense, but in a stupid way, because I think they’re all off their rocker now that I understand what their theory is. Anyways, yeah, I do it in the shower as well. I’m too busy enjoying my music to think while I’m driving.
