My kid asked me the same thing last year (she’s a year older than yours this year, so ten must be the curious age)….and I gave her the same answer you did. I can’t bear the thought of having “that talk” with her…..and since I only have one kid, I feel like I’d be done and over the whole Santa thing forever! There’s just something magical about Santa that I’m not ready to let go of yet.

Although…I did overhear her talking with her friends the other day and she was kind of making it sound like I’M the mentally slow one, she was all, “My Mom doesn’t know Santa isn’t real, so don’t tell her.”

Get her a netbook. They run $350 or less. It’s basically an internet machine. You can do all the stuff on a regular one – Office, etc. But most hard core gaming is out.
