New Addiction Leads to Fun & Sex

Don’t get too excited. My new addiction is PG rated.

At least that’s what I thought when I discovered the game Words With Friends. It’s an app for the iPhone which is just like Scrabble. And it seemed so innocent. Until I noticed a trend. Check out the letters on the right side going down:

This is the order of games I’m playing. I can’t make this shit up.

Two other images to share which are my proudest:

My highest point word ever. (This one isn't dirty. I'm just bragging.)

Rhyming with Rambo works. And the points are PERFECT.

So if you want to play with me, I’m Susanmercedes. And I promise to keep it as PG as I can. Just don’t blame me for the dirty stuff that creeps up.

Wordless Wednesday (Wino Wednesday to be continued…)

I’ve been too busy mastering word games to blog. Don’t judge. This image always makes me smile.

Salt Lake City sunset from my deck. This also makes me smile.

No idea why I liked this picture of my legs. But I did. And it made me smile.

Darn it, I used words. That kinda messes up Wordless Wednesday. Oh well.

Then and Now

I remember taking road trips as a kid. Mom would drive our my brother and I in our super classy station wagon across the country for some random adventure. The station wagon had the standard “wood” panel on the side. I swore back then that I wanted that EXACT car when I was old enough to drive. Thank god I changed my mind. Sometimes we’d even rent an RV and drive around in our temporary “vacation home”.

But the road trips always had one thing in common. It was fun. We’d laugh, talk, fight, play games and even pick up hitch hikers. Mom…I still don’t think that was safe. Of course, we didn’t wear seat belts back then either. I’m surprised we (kids) weren’t allowed to smoke and have mom drinking a beer during the road trip. Back to the fun. Remember playing the game where you go through the alphabet and find each letter on the road? That’s some fun entertainment.

These days road trips are so different. Well it seems they are. I don’t know because I generally fly.

But you know what drives me crazy? Kids in the backseat have a better set up than most people in their living rooms. They’ve got a DVD/TV, cup holders on their car seats generally with a sippy cup full of something, toys to play with.

They don’t have to find things to entertain them. Nope. We provide it for them. I’d say we live in an overstimulated world.

Of course, I’m guilty too. You’ll rarely find me without my iPhone. It keeps me entertained in grocery store lines, traffic, waiting rooms, etc. What’s sad about it is the fact that I miss out on interaction with others. Maybe I should try to disconnect for a while. That seems like an impossible task. I mean, no access to email, texting, IMing, Twitter, internet browsing? I panic just thinking about it.

Lesson here: Get your kid an iPhone. (Elle, in the rare chance you read this…the answer is absolutely not. Now find something that starts with the letter G. And I’ll do H as soon as I answer this email.)
