Got Nailed Celebrity Style
While Elle and I visit our family in Texas, she’s getting to do stuff any 10 year old girl would love. We did a tri-generation mani/pedi outing.
My mom wanted to match Elle exactly. Of course, she did it WITHOUT getting the hand painted flowers on her nails. I opted for a slightly less neon color. Otherwise we all match.
Best of all. They guy who did my toes and fingers also did Jessica Simpson’s. That’s him tending to her hand below.
So you can imagine, my nails almost make me look famous.
You Want Flower?
This look can totally be pulled off….
when you’re 10. Ten years old.
And actually, I think they look adorable. Especially the flowers on thumbnails. Probably because those are the little fingers of my 10 year old daughter, Elle. She even painted them herself. She’s the most self-sufficient kid ever born.
But she’s 10.
Otherwise I just can’t appreciate the beauty of nail art. Never on grown ups. You won’t find flowers on my fingers or toes. EVER!
With the 4th of July approaching I’m bracing myself for firework designs and flags. They’ll be everywhere. Just not on my fingers. Or my toes. Period.
Yet when I get my nails done I guarantee I’ll be asked the standard question, “You want flower?”
What fashion fads are tacky to you? Hell, maybe I shouldn’t ask since I probably do some of them. And if you put flowers or flags on your nails, that’s cool. Just not for me.
